Margaret Light, characterises the 19th century Arts
and Crafts Movement. Worked using Gumnut Yarns perlé
silk 'BUDS' 'onto ivory linen twill, the natural forms of
the flowers, leaves and buds are held on gracefully curving
stems.

and plant embroideries from the Elizabethan period
inspired her to create this panel stitched in

Hare & Strawberries - is a typical Elizabethan
design
with a hare surrounded by strawberries.
Worked in detached buttonhole stitch and stitched

Tree of Life is the central feature of Maree's
Elizabethan Casket lid and is surrounded by an abundance
of small animals, flowers and plants. 'Inside the lid' panel
shows a more formal Tree of Life

This
design is made up of circles in two different sizes.
Each circle is stitched with a different stitch pattern but in
the same three colours.
The circles are your marbles -- shooters for the large ones and
peewees for the small ones.
