Vol.14 No.2

The 1-ply fine wool "DAISIES"  made their debut on the front cover of Handmade in an Australian Wildflower baby blanket by Lynda Maker.. Perle silk "BUDS", fine silk "STARS" and 2-ply crewel wool "BLOSSOMS" and  "GEMSTONES" are also used to give a life-like texture and appearance to this fantastic project.

"Sahara", another fantastic blanket designed and stitched by Jenny McWhinney follows the "Arabian Nights" theme in Issue 33. The single exotic camel features elaborate braid and tassel decorations, created using many types of threads including Gumnut Yarns stranded silk "Stars" and 1-ply fine wool "Daisies".

Cute mice dance "through a field of fragrant and colourful blooms" on this blanket. Designed by Jennifer Hartley it uses Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'Stars', silk/wool 'Poppies' and crewel wool 'Blossoms'.

Helan Pearce's "Floral Wreath Blanket" is a work of art. Helan combines Gumnut Yarns 2-ply crewel wool "BLOSSOMS" and "GEMSTONES", 1-ply fine wool "DAISIES" with perle silk "BUDS" and "JEWELS" to take wool embroidery a step further.
