We are pleased to present our popular threads, spun from completely natural fibres- silk, wool and mohair. Over 1200 threads are available.

These unique hand dyed threads are suitable for all types of Embroidery. The possibilities are only limited by the imagination.

Our original range 'BLOSSOMS' - a 2-ply crewel wool is available in 284 shaded colours.

155 shades from 'BLOSSOMS' have been selected and are available in the following thread ranges. There are 31 families in each range with 5 shades from light to dark in each.
'STARS' - a strong, stranded silk
'BUDS' - a rich perle silk
'POPPIES' - 50% silk /50% wool
'DAISIES' - 1-ply fine wool
'TULIPS' - lustrous kid mohair

2-ply crewel wool has also been used to create
'GEMSTONES' - 120 variegated colours

Available in 30 variegated shades are:
'AZTECS' - strong, stranded silk
'JEWELS' - rich,perle silk
'OPALS' - 50% silk / 50% wool

Gumnut Yarns threads are completely hand-dyed in small lots using only natural silk, mohair and wool.

Although the same formulas are repeated, each lot is unique. Some variation may therefore occur, adding greater creativity to your finished embroidery. This is more likely to occur in the variegated threads. We suggest that you carefully calculate the quantity required when purchasing threads and allow a little extra.

Our threads are not guaranteed colourfast and while we rarely have problems with our colours running, we suggest that if washing your embroidery, do so in tepid water.

Please note that hot water, steam and most detergents/cleaning agents may reactivate the dye and cause bleeding.

While many of our thread ranges are sold by numerical listing (eg 010, 999) they all also have individual shade names.
